Build your next chapter
From structure
to the final detail.
Highmark Construction Group specializes in basement finishing and new residential construction in Laramie and Southeast Wyoming. We build with purpose, craftsmanship, and care—and we’re looking for someone who shares that standard.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll work alongside our project manager, plan the day’s carpentry work, solve problems in the field, and help keep the job organized and moving. We value sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to deliver excellent work without constant supervision.
We offer competitive pay based on demonstrated skill and experience, varied residential work, and the opportunity to grow with the company.
The craft
A strong carpenter. From framing to finish.
Build it right from the start.
Read construction plans, specifications, and structural details. Lay out and frame residential floors, walls, and roof systems accurately. Follow approved plans, engineering, and applicable building codes; prepare work for inspections and address corrections with the project manager.
Make every detail count.
Install doors, jambs, hardware, baseboards, casing, and other trim with consistent reveals, tight joints, and clean scribes. Bring accurate measuring, practical construction math, and careful tool use to every installation.
Bring the whole skill set.
Build and install custom cabinetry and built-ins on site. Complete decorative beam wraps and other custom woodwork with thoughtful layouts and clean finishes. Work comfortably across rough carpentry, finish work, and the punch-list details that complete a home.
More range is welcome.
Painting and staining are a plus, including preparation, finish matching, and consistent application. Broader residential construction experience is welcome. Tell us where you’re strongest and where you’re still growing.
The lead role
Take ownership.
Set the standard.
We’re looking for a capable builder and a dependable teammate—someone customers trust in their home and other trades can count on.
- Plan ahead: organize daily tasks, anticipate materials and tools, and coordinate the next steps with the project manager and other trades.
- Lead by example: work alongside the team, communicate clear expectations, and help less-experienced coworkers improve.
- Protect quality: check dimensions and workmanship, catch issues early, and finish the details before calling the work complete.
- Communicate: report progress, questions, and changes promptly. Clarify conflicting plans before building.
- Work professionally: arrive reliably, treat people respectfully, protect finished surfaces, control dust, and leave the site clean and secure.
- Work safely: use tools and equipment correctly, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain an organized job site.
What makes a strong fit
Experience you can put to work.
Bring substantial professional residential carpentry experience, strong framing and finish skills, and the ability to work independently from plans. Prior crew leadership is valuable; so are steady judgment, reliability, and pride in the finished result. You’ll need dependable transportation to our job sites and confidence using the tools of the trade.
